The APPEAR III evaluation report concludes that the programme is a highly relevant and effective instrument for strengthening higher education, research and international cooperation, while identifying opportunities for a potential fourth phase to enhance its impact through stronger monitoring, greater flexibility and more inclusive approaches.

In der zentralen Förderaktion "Zentren der beruflichen Exzellenz" hat die Europäische Kommission in der Antragsrunde 2025 aus insgesamt 303 Anträgen 16 Projekte zur Förderung ausgewählt. An 4 CoVE sind insgesamt 15 österreichische Einrichtungen beteiligt – ein CoVE wird in Österreich koordiniert.
