We had the unique opportunity to explore the United Nations facilities through an in-depth guided tour. This immersive experience offered us rare insight into the inner workings of the UN and its various agencies. We visited key areas within the complex, learned about the history and mission of the United Nations, and gained a better understanding of how international cooperation is fostered to address global challenges.

A highlight of the visit was a special address by a representative from UNHCR – the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR Österreich). The speaker shared invaluable insights into the agency’s humanitarian efforts, focusing on their mission to protect and support refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced persons worldwide. We learned about UNHCR’s current operations, the challenges they face in crisis regions, and the vital role they play in upholding human rights and providing emergency relief.

After the official part, we invited our participants to join us for an informal get-together at a nearby restaurant along the Danube.
